GENERAL & COSMETIC DENTISTS IN TEMPLE, TX

Forest Trail Dental Care is dedicated to offering our patients the highest standard of dental care, utilizing the latest advancements in dental technology and materials. Among our array of dental restoration services, composite fillings stand out as a superior choice for repairing cavities and enhancing the structural integrity of teeth. Our commitment is to restore your smile’s health and appearance with treatments tailored to your specific needs.

Advantages of Composite Fillings

Composite fillings, crafted from a mixture of plastic resins and fine glass particles, offer several benefits over traditional silver amalgam fillings:

Aesthetically Pleasing: The tooth-colored material of composite fillings blends seamlessly with your natural teeth, providing a more natural appearance than silver amalgam fillings.
Tooth Structure Conservation: This type of filling bonds directly to the tooth, which allows for a more conservative preparation and preserves more of your natural tooth structure.
Durability: Composite fillings are designed to withstand the forces of chewing and can last many years with proper care.
Versatility: Beyond filling cavities, composite material can repair chipped, cracked, or worn teeth, making it a versatile option for various dental issues.
Safety: Composite fillings do not contain mercury, making them a safe option for patients concerned about the potential health risks associated with amalgam fillings.

The Process of Getting a Composite Filling

The procedure for placing a composite filling is efficient and straightforward, usually completed in one visit:

Decay Removal: The first step involves removing any decay and cleaning the affected area within the tooth.
Tooth Preparation: Next, the tooth is prepared with a solution that helps the composite material bond effectively.
Filling Placement: The composite resin is then applied in layers to the tooth. Each layer is hardened using a special curing light before the next layer is added.
Shaping and Polishing: Once the filling is in place, it is shaped to match the contours of your natural teeth and polished to a smooth finish, ensuring that it blends indistinguishably with your surrounding teeth.

Went in for a broken tooth. Expected a butchery and a robbery. Instead, walked out in less than an hour with less pain and a no interest payment plan that fits my budget. Not to mention the doctor and assistant were very well coordinated and efficient. No pain at all. If I ever need a tooth yanked out again, I know where I'm going!

EXCELLENT experience with Dental Hygienist - Joy.
She has cleaned my teeth 2 times this year.
Joy is pleasant, experienced, competent, patient with questions. She very willingly pulled up my x-rays and reviewed a couple of items and described some aspects to me.

In my 1st APPT with her, she recommended an electric tooth brush. I started using one and then in my subsequent appointment for a cleaning she noticed a significant improvement in the cleanliness of my teeth. As a result, it was easier for her to clean my teeth.

I appreciate her professional demeanor and positive attitude.

Had a cleaning appointment for this visit and it went well. The folks there were great. They've always taken care of me. First time not having to pay anything because it was a clean instead of treating pain. Will continue to use Forest Trail Dental as long as its in-network.
